Panasonic Launches Green Ambience Changer, the Next GenerationUltra-Fine Mist System for Cooler Outdoor Spaces

Panasonic Green AC is able to lower outdoor temperature by up to 7°C through evaporative cooling; ultra-fine mist technology can also be utilized to create artistic spaces both indoors and outdoors

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Panasonic has announced the Middle East launch of the Green Ambience Changer, an environmentally-friendly mist system designed for outdoor environments.  Featuring the brand’s proprietary two-fluid nozzle, the Panasonic Green AC generates ultra-fine mist (Silky Fine Mist) to bring down outdoor temperature from 4 to 7 degrees Celsius through evaporative cooling, depending upon how the nozzles are installed as well as other external factors such as wind direction, shade, etc. It also removes heat from the skin through the same mechanism as sweating. In addition, this innovative mist system consumes 70 percent less energy compared to conventional two-fluid systems, while boasting easy installation features within existing outdoor structures due to its compact and flexible design.

The Panasonic Green AC uses compressed high-speed airflow to mix with water to generate Silky Fine Mist with a particle size of around 6. The ultra-fine dry mist is said to enable the Green AC to emit sufficient particles to cool an outdoor area of about 1.6m in distance.  Compared to conventional cooling mist systems, the Silky Fine Mist easily evaporates and thus does not feel wet to the touch even when in direct contact.

“Soaring temperatures and high humidity are common occurrences across the region, more so during summer when the sweltering heat makes it nearly impossible to stay outdoor.  Panasonic set out to develop the Green AC to offer an environmentally-friendly solution that makes spending time outside cooler and comfortable in the evenings of the hottest days,” said Mr. Hidetoshi Kaneko - Director and Division Head - System Solutions & Communications Division, PMMAF.

“Its unique two-fluid mist nozzle, which generates an ultra-fine mist, emits less heat and can cool more efficiently making the Green AC an ideal outdoor cooling solution not only in restaurants and dining areas but in other public and commercial environments, such as malls, resorts, gardens, sports venues and public transportation waiting areas,” he added.

Since the Silky Fine Mist tend to float around in the air, the Panasonic Green AC is also suitable for creating interesting spaces and adding aesthetic staging effects to various entertainment productions such as concerts and stage shows.

“Silky Fine Mist is a brand-new technology that is a step ahead of conventional mist. It is light and can drift away easily, so the Green AC can be used as an inventive performance tool, suitable to create more excitement in designing events and entertainment shows.  It works very well with projection mapping and can be used to diffuse light to flood an entire space in color and projecting beams of light to create high-quality images with a three-dimensional effect. Compared to regular smoke which uses a special agent, the mist is clean and harmless to the human body, thus the light dispersed by the mist and the coolness from the evaporating mist will create an immersive sensation like never before,” Mr. Kaneko further revealed.

Each Panasonic Green AC Flex set consists of a two-fluid nozzle for emitting the mist, and a sprayer with a built-in control panel and drive unit. Besides allowing for direct connection to drinking tap water, it also supports operation using an external water tank for places where it is difficult to lay water supply pipes, such as outdoor event venues.
