Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 4 September 2023: Dubai Summer Surprises came to a flourishing end yesterday, wrapping up a season of excitement throughout the city. During summer 2023, weekly events laid on for the DSS annual festival have wowed and excited residents and visitors to Dubai in equal measure, with an action-packed calendar of summer fun. 

Dubai celebrated the 26th edition of DSS with thrilling concerts by globally renowned artists, endless gastronomy options, unique shopping experiences, exciting raffle draws with generous prize pools, engaging plays and world-class entertainment, and unmissable retail deals. This year, Dubai Summer Surprises kicked off with a 12 Hour Sale, and concluded with the DSS Final Sale, both offering up to 90 per cent off across leading retail brands in Dubai. Shoppers took advantage of unbeatable offers across fashion, home and outdoor furnishings, perfumes, beauty and cosmetics, optics, electronics, as well as supermarket and department stores.  

Summer Restaurant Week saw 60 sought-after dining destinations across the city offer up culinary masterpieces for a great value for money, featuring restaurants serving up street eats, to fine dining, crafted by expert chefs. 

The edutainment theme park and family favourite Modesh World delighted many parents and children with a host of enjoyable games, rides, competitions, workshops, and delicious treats. This DSS saw an incredible amount of performances by world renowned talents such as Hussain Al Jassmi, Kadim Al Sahir, Mohamed Abdo, Farhan Akthar, Davido and Jah Khalib. Beat the Heat saw 6 epic concerts featuring talented up-and-coming artists like WEGZ, Cairokee and Massar Egbari, with a line-up packed with performers including Dizzy Too Skinny, Balti, Autostrad, Sharmoofers and DJ Aseel showcasing their work on stage at The Agenda, Media City.  

Reel Cinemas hosted a month-long series of thrilling events and a wide array of activities, featuring special appearances by the casts of hit movies, partnerships with various brands, branding opportunities, and much more. It was a period filled with excitement and entertainment for movie enthusiasts and fans alike. 

All throughout the summer, incredible hotel deals and Kids Go Free offers provided the ultimate summer escape, with amazing benefits over breakfast, features and amenities, and great price reductions – including exclusive offers for UAE residents only. 

Shoppers also enjoyed an array of retail deals and raffle prizes throughout the summer.
